Linda Catherine Smith Debrough transitioned Friday, December 30, 2022, at 4:40AM, at Bon Secours Maryview Hospital. She was born January 4, 1949, in Norfolk County, now Portsmouth, VA, to the late Leon, Sr. and Catherine Smith. She was predeceased by her parents, one brother-Leon Smith, Jr.; two sisters-Mildred Carney and Florence Jefferson and a host of other family members.
Linda completed her education in the Portsmouth Public School System and worked for the Portsmouth Public School System as a Cafeteria Worker for 30 plus years until her retirement.
Linda married the late William Debrough and to that union two sons were born-William Smith and Thomas Debrough.
She was called Linda Catherine by everyone that knew her. Her favorite pass time was playing BINGO. Linda would walk a million miles to a BINGO game.
Survivors who will cherish her memory include her loving and devoted daughter-Angie Sessoms; two of her eight grandchildren-Dymond and Qua’shayla Sessoms; two sons-William Smith and Thomas Debrough; two sisters-Mother Mary Bellamy and Corlis Smith; one brother-Darrell Smith; 15 great grandchildren, one great- great grandchild-Kae’nylah Sessoms and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
