Lila Maria Demons departed this life on November 4, 2022, at Waterview Health & Rehab Center in Hampton, VA. She was born on May 6, 1941, to the late Albert and Lila Bailey in Portsmouth, VA. She was the fifth of nine children. She was preceded in death by her sisters-LaJoyeuse Cruz and Victoria Perez, and three brothers-Albert Jr., John and Eric Bailey.
Lila attended Our Lady of Victory Catholic School, met and married Robert Demons who served in the US Navy, and went on to have one child-Cicilia Arcadius DeMons. She has one grandchild, Alexandra Roma DeMons.
Lila is survived by her sisters-Angela Cook (Bailey) and Phillippa Bailey, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins plus a host of lifelong friends.
Lila loved to sew and dance and would make all her clothes. Lila loved to take her nieces and nephews on outings to the parks and beaches. She would make frequent trips out of town to visit her siblings.
