A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2014, 11 a.m. at Trinity Faith Diamond, 1023 Deep Creek Blvd., Chesapeake, VA. Bishop O.L. Cromwell II officiating. Interment will be in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA. Corprew Funeral Home in charge
LeeRoy Groover departed this life on November 24, 2014. Born in Savannah, Georgia on December 11, 1927, he was the son of the late Daisy Groover and Cornelius Walker. LeeRoy accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of Trinity Faith Diamond where he served as a faithful member of the Deacon Board, Pastor’s Aid, Kitchen Committee, and Youth Committee.
LeeRoy retired from the United States Navy after serving over 20 years. He also retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard with over 30 years of service.
LeeRoy was pre-deceased by his wife, Erinda Groover. They were married for over 50 years. Remembering him in love is a granddaughter, Nina Groover of Texas; grandson, Darrick Reaves of Illinois; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Delores Maxwell of Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Zula Green of Portsmouth, VA and Carlotta Cromwell of Chesapeake, VA; a special niece, Valencia Woods of Chesapeake, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
