Lamont V. “Monty” Johnson was born on December 11, 1979 and unexpectedly passed on July 31, 2020 at Maryview Medical Center at the age of 40. “Monty” attended Portsmouth Public Schools and graduated from I.C. Norcom High School. He continued his work experience as a successful welder and also learned other trades throughout the years.
Lamont was well known in the community where he began to explore the art of doing tattoos. He was a local “fan-fav” and enjoyed expressing his many talents. He loved to joke and make people laugh. His smile will truly be missed. May you rest peacefully within the arms and home of our Heavenly Father.
Lamont was predeceased by his father – Terry Lee Flythe of Portsmouth, VA and his son – Lemonte Benton Johnson. He is survived by his mother – Odell Fagan (Juan) of Portsmouth, VA; two children – Mayka and Mekal Johnson; two sisters – Gloria Johnson (Gary) of Portsmouth, VA and Shanika Horne of Newburn, NC and one brother – Cornell Jones of Portsmouth, VA. He also leaves to cherish his memory – his fiance’ – Tawiana Fleshman; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
