Lajwane Angel Tavares-Henderson born April 20, 1980 passed away June 11, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. Lajwane was born in Boston, MA., and raised in Chesapeake, VA., where he attended Western Branch High School. He would go on to start his boxing career. He enjoyed anything involving family.
Lajwane married his soulmate Rachel LaToya Tavares on August 13, 2011. He is survived by Rachel and his precious kids, Alycia Henderson-Brown, Lajwane Henderson Jr., Angela & Amarah Tavares, his step-son Jovon Rouse, mother Mary Henderson, father Kevin Bracey (deceased), siblings Talene & Shaun Williams, Rashique Henderson, Nicole & Jason Biedenbach, Kimberly & Kevin Bracey Jr., father-in-law LeRoy, mother-in-law Pamela, brother in-laws LeRoy Jr. & Michael McClain, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Lajwane had too many talents to name but he was an artist by nature. One of his best talents was his ability to befriend anyone. He was a lover of people. His infectious smile could light up any room. He was the true meaning of a Gentle Giant. The name Angel fit him perfectly because he was here to give us a little bit of heaven, until God would call him home again. If you remember anything about Lajwane, remember his strength, his fight, and his inability to give up on life. He will most certainly be missed by all that were blessed to know him. Let the hole his passing leaves in our hearts be filled with all the memories and laughs we shared with him.
