Kristina Black Collier, of Portsmouth, passed away peacefully at home on November 8 th , 2023, at
only 55 years old.
Kristina was born on May 11 th , 1968 to Lucy Black in Portsmouth, Virginia. She grew up in
Portsmouth, a graduate of Churchland High School, and went on to build a career spanning over
twenty-three years as a Pharmacy Technician at Maryview Medical Center.
Tina had an infectious energy and was a friend to all she met. She enjoyed living life to the
fullest and found joy in every moment, big or small. She was independent, strong-willed, and
bold; a force of nature to those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Kristina was predeceased by her mother, Francis Lucille “Lucy” Black, and her beloved husband,
Robert Michael Collier. She is survived by her son, Christian Dean Pearce; daughter Hope Marie
Burrell and partner Peyton Steven Rose; her cherished cats Miko and Leia; her dearest friends,
Zeta Duffee, Tricia Nixon Purvis, and Jill O’Brien Dezern; close family and friends, Jesse Black,
Gary Burrell, Lori Palagyi, Angie Nosay, and Pamela Yarbrough; and countless friends,
colleagues, and family members.
Tina was a beautiful person inside and out, and her absence from this world leaves a void that
will never be filled. She is loved by many and will be immeasurably missed.
A memorial service to celebrate Tina’s life will be held at Corprew Funeral Home at 2:00 PM,
Tuesday, November 21 st , 2023. Flowers are welcome; memorial contributions may be sent to
the Portsmouth Humane Society in her honor.
