On Tuesday, September 26, 2017 God’s angels ushered our brother, father, uncle and friend, Korothen “Keith” Whitten, into eternal rest. He was lovingly known by many as Keith or Meatball. He was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 1959 in Portsmouth, Virginia to Wendell David Whitten and Vivian Elizabeth Williams as the youngest of five children. His father nicknamed him Turkey because of the festivities on the day he was born. In 1977, he graduated from Truxton Alternative School, where he received his GED and certification for carpentry.
Keith enjoyed spending time with family and friends, football, and living life to the fullest. His shenanigans caused a few minor commotions and plenty of laughter. He was unquestionably loyal to those he loved, stubborn to a fault, and later in life – sold out to God. His shining star was his only child, Keidra Oliva St. Ann, who was created in love with his lifelong friend, Patricia Michelle St. Ann.
Left to honor Keith and his memory is his daughter, Keidra; his grandson, Ziy’Quane Kei’von St. Ann; his sister, Joyce; his brothers, Iman and Linwood (Wanda); his sister-niece Katura, three nieces, Vivian, DeWanda, and Iman; two nephews, Linwood Jr and Iman Jr; five great-nephews, three great-nieces, and many beloved family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Donna, and his nephew Wendell “Jeremiah”. Keith will be missed by all who knew him, but he will never be forgotten by those who were honored to share his love.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017, 2 pm at Corprew Funeral Home Chapel.
