James Rockett III, 41, of Portsmouth, VA passed away tragically in Portsmouth, VA on June 29, 2023.
James was born on October 19, 1981, in Portsmouth, VA to James Rockett, Jr. and Winifred Jordan. James was a lifelong resident of Portsmouth, VA,
He was educated in Portsmouth Public Schools. James furthered his studies by enrolling in Brick Masonry classes for which he received a Certificate of Completion.
He was striving to be a successful entrepreneur. He launched several businesses including selling cars which he purchased from the Auction, Rockett Landscaping Company and had purchased his first investment property.
James was preceded in death by his father, James Rockett Jr., his son, Ya’sheym Carraway and his sister, Monique D. Hodges.
He leaves to cherish one son, Shaiquan M. Williams of Seattle, WA; his mother, Winifred Hodges of Portsmouth, VA; his step-father, Michael Hodges Sr. of Portsmouth, VA; one brother, Michael Hodges, Jr. of Portsmouth, VA; three sisters, Mae Cofield of Suffolk, VA; Vanessa Thompson (Bernard) of Hampton, VA; and Kimberly Bivens of Portsmouth, VA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
We know that while James’s body is no longer walking on this earth, his love, and our memories of him are IMPRINTED on our hearts and our souls forever. We will always remember and celebrate our cherished memories of James Rockett, III.
The love he gave will shine forever.
