Jacqueline (Jackie) Odessa Smith Cuffee, was called home to be with God on the morning of October 8, 2016. Jackie was born to Beulah Smith on June 28, 1945 in Portsmouth, VA. She was educated in the Portsmouth City School System. At a young age, Jackie accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized. She was a member of the Garden of Prayer Worship Center and Holy Light Church of Deliverance for many years. In 2014, she joined First Mt. Zion Baptist Church after moving to Northern Virginia to be with her daughter and family. She served there as a faithful member who truly loved the Lord.

Jackie worked in private industry before joining the Federal Government where she was employed for over 20 years until her retirement in 2004. She was a valued employee and loved by many coworkers, some of whom became treasured friends for life.

In 1979 Jackie married Dorsey Vernell Cuffee and to this union Christi Regina Cuffee was born. In 1993 God called Dorsey to rest, but Jackie and Christi lived on and shared a loving and unbreakable bond that will forever remain. Jackie was a devoted mother and grandmother to her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren, happily celebrating each and every accomplishment and milestone. She left a lasting impression of love and grace with family, friends, colleagues and many others throughout her life. To know her was to love her.

Those who remain to cherish her in memory include: a devoted daughter, Christi Cuffee-Williams; one grandson, Chase Williams; one granddaughter, Sydney Williams; son-in-law, Karl Williams Jr.; one sister, Charlotte Smith (Al), loving cousin Delores Hall (Douglas); two aunts, Rachel Harris and Golethia Smith; one uncle, Robert Smith (Ruth) and a host of relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens (mausoleum chapel) on October 14 th at 11 a.m. Rev. Dr. Calvin A. Lillard presiding.
