Haywood Elliott was born October 21, 1927 to the late Miles Elliott Sr. and the late Alean Rodmond Elliott. He served 30 years in the US Navy and retired. He also served 20 years as a Postman and retired. He was a 33 degree mason (Prince Hall affiliation).
He was preceded in death by two sons; Rodney Elliott and Haywood Elliott Jr., four brothers and two sisters;
Robert Elliott, John Elliott, Henry Elliott, Miles Elliott, Ida Cross and Callie Elliott.
He is survived by his wife Betty Jean Elliott; daughter Gilda Williams; three grandchildren; Beasley Williams Jr. and Vincent LaTroy Williams Portsmouth, Va.; Cory Hill of Chesapeake, Va. and a host of grands and great grands and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family wishes to express sincere gratitude and appreciation to all for your prayers, calls, floral arrangements, cards, and all other gifts and kindness expressed during the time of our loved one’s passing. May God bless and keep you always.
