In Loving Memory of Gina Louise Goodwyn
Gina Louise Goodwyn, a beloved wife, devoted mother, and cherished member of her community, passed away on November 13, 2023, at the age of 57 in Chesapeake, VA. She was born on June 10, 1966, in San Diego, CA, to Hiroko Hodaiji Fulton and Cephas Fulton.
Gina was a woman of extraordinary character and lived her life with unwavering kindness and compassion. She possessed a remarkable ability to keep everything together, offering her support and love to all those around her. Known for her positive outlook on life, Gina cherished the memories she made with her loved ones and always held them dear to her heart.
Gina leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She was the adored wife of Anton Goodwyn and a dedicated mother to her two sons, Julian and Jordan Goodwyn. They will forever remember her as a nurturing and caring presence in their lives.
Gina was a woman who exuded grace and had a deep faith in God. Her humility and unconditional love were evident in everything she did. She had a special gift for bringing people together and was emotionally intuitive, always understanding the needs of others. Gina’s selflessness and generosity touched the lives of many.
Gina was preceded in death by her loving mother, Hiroko Fulton; and Parents-in-Law, who unconditionally loved her like their own – James Sr. and Daphine Goodwyn.
In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by her father, Cephas Fulton, and her beloved siblings, Michelle Bess, Nancy Hardy (Leroy), William Fulton (Diane), and Debra Weekes (Gus).
She was also a loving sister-in-law to James Carnell Goodwyn (Tish) and Tyrone Goodwyn.
Gina held a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews; Alisa, Atarah, Bethany, Ivy Victoria, Jada, Jenae, Jasmine, Journi, Kendeline, Kristen, Rachel, Sara, and Sachi, as well as Aaron, Alexander James, Blake, Cameron, Daniel, Jackson, Jacob, Jayden, Joshua, Lance, Marques, Michael, Richard, Sean, and Stephen.
During her 33-year tenure with the Virginia Department of Agriculture (VDACS), Gina made significant contributions as a Regional Supervisor. Her dedication to her work and her commitment to excellence served as a lasting testament to her character and integrity.
Outside of her professional life, Gina found joy in various hobbies and activities. She delighted in the art of Zumba, embraced the spirit of volunteerism, and derived pleasure from collecting and cooking. These pursuits not only brought her personal fulfillment but also allowed her to share her passions with those around her.
Gina will forever be remembered for her unwavering love, kind heart, and selflessness. Her legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she find eternal peace in the arms of the Lord.
