Georgia Elizabeth McCormick, previously of Cavalier Manor, Portsmouth, VA, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 19, 2016.
Born May 3, 1940 in Norfolk, VA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mildred Selden, and widow of the late William McCormick Jr. (d. 2015). She is survived by her two brothers Thomas Selden Jr. and Joseph Russell Selden and by her two sons, Willie “Bill” McCormick and wife Patricia of Norfolk, VA, David McCormick of Suffolk, VA; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Whitaker, and daughter, Deborah McCormick.
She was a retired nurse of Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth, VA for 31 years. She truly loved her artwork, participating in various art festivals.
Because of her love for flowers, the family will be holding a memorial in her honor at Botanical Gardens, Norfolk, VA, tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April 9, 2016.
