No children were born to the couple but, coming from a big family many nieces, nephews and cousins were welcomed into their hearts and home.

He honored his country with 40 years membership in the Fleet Reserve Association. An organization of retired Navy, Marine, and Coast Guard.  He was active in the community and loved meeting with the Camelot Senior Citizens Club, the Camelot Civic League, and the Tidewater Area Council.
