Elois Irene Banks Marrow Massenburg was born on April 24, 1939 to the late Clara Banks and Clarence Banks Sr. in Newport News, VA.  On Monday, April 22, 2019, surrounded by her loving family, God dispatched His angles and called Elois home to eternal rest.

Ms. Massenburg accepted Christ at an early age and God lead her to Rhema Christian Center which is currently Mountain Moving Faith Outreach Ministries where she was a member for 30 years. She was committed to several ministries which included the choir, the Deaconess Board, Evangelistic Team, Dorcus Circle, Alter Counselor, and a powerful Prayer Warrior along with her longtime sisters in Christ Clemintene Williams, Deloris Holman, and Clara Jacobs. They were affectionally known as the Golden Girls.

Ms. Massenburg worked in the nursing field where she enjoyed caring for patients and assisting them with anything they needed. She retired from the Veteran Affairs in Hampton, VA at the age of 62. There after she started private duty nursing and continued her profession until her health started to decline. She loved family gatherings. She always put forth an effort to encourage family members and friends to keep God first in their lives. She was a great supporter to the children in church when they participated in activities and accomplished any goal whether it was large or small. She was bold and did not present any shyness when it came to spreading Gods Word. These are just a few characteristics this wonderful woman of God presented.

Ms. Massenburg was preceded in death by her mother, Clara Banks, father, Clarence Banks Sr., sister Barbara Banks, brother, Clarence Banks Jr., daughter, Lenae Marrow, great grandson, JahSaun Martin Marrow-Threat, and son-n-law Charles Hunter Sr.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Hunter of Hampton, and Sabrina D. Marrow of Greenville, NC; two sons, Curtis A. Marrow of Colorado Springs, CO and Sherwood M. Marrow of Newport News. Along with 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, cousins, and many friends.
