Edna Mae Jefferson, 81, also known as Annie Mae, was born in Portsmouth, VA. She was educated in the Portsmouth Public Schools system. She worked at the Dry Dock Enlisted Mess Open Club. After 10 years of service she became a Homemaker.
She was predeceased by her parents Viola Johnson, Willie Baxter, and husband Charlie Ford “Charles” Jefferson, her brothers; Arthur Johnson; her twin brother, William Baxter.
She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters; Janet Sharlene Jefferson and Cheryl Marie Prince (Robert), one son; Charles Alvin Jefferson; a sister, Edith Bell(Maurice) ; sister in laws; Ida Mae Johnson and Hallie Davis. Grandchildren; Travis Jefferson, Alisha Prince, Keshara Carter, and Damari Jefferson. Great-grandchildren; Ne’Kiyah Thompson, Aliyah Rydquist, Makai Gray, Kayani Gray and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Also, a special caretaker for the past 10 years, Cecelia Smith.
Viewing will be Thursday, October 21, 2021, from 2 pm- 7pm. Homegoing Celebration will be Friday, October 22, 2021, 12 noon at Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, 1822 Portsmouth Blvd Portsmouth, VA 23704 with DeAndre R. Carswell as the Eulogist. Final resting place will be at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veteran Cemetery, Suffolk, VA.
