Dorothy Mae Cuffee, 89, departed this life on July 28, 2018. She was born on April 18, 1929 in Portsmouth, VA to the late James A. and Pecolia Rumble. She was a member of New First Baptist Church Taylorsville, where she was a member of the Widows Club. Dorothy retired from Portsmouth Public Schools after 30 years of service.
She was predeceased by her husband, James “Moosey” Cuffee; a sister, Clara Pugh; and four brothers, James A. Rumble Jr., Morris Rumble, Charles R. Rumble, and Willie Lee Rumble. Left to cherish her memories are: her son, Milton Lee Cuffee of Norfolk; three daughters, Shirley M. Manley of Chesapeake, Frances M. Jones (Anthony) of Portsmouth, Sylvia D. Allen (Mark) of Suffolk; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018, from 12 noon to 8 pm at Corprew Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018, 12 noon at New First Baptist Church Taylorsville, 2720 Turnpike Rd., Portsmouth, VA 23707. Interment will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, 1101 Campostella Rd., Chesapeake, VA 23320.
