Dexter R. Williams Sr., 67, departed this life on April 8, 2019. He was born on February 26, 1952 in Seaboard, North Carolina to the late Helen Williams Brown. He was an electrician and painter at Northrop Grumman where he retired after 30 years of service. Dexter was a member of Masonic Lodge Ionic 91, where he held the position as Past Worshipful Master in 1995.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Ballard and Edward Ballard.
He leaves to cherish his memories: two sons, Dexter R. Williams Jr. and Keith Bell; two sisters, Karen Brown and Harriet Reynolds; two brothers, Anthony Brown and Danny Williams; 6 grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A wake will be held on Sunday, April 14th from 3 pm to 5 pm at Corprew Funeral Home, 1822 Portsmouth Blvd., Portsmouth, VA 23704. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 15, 2019, 12 Noon at New Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 1000 County St., Portsmouth, VA 23704. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 3920 Airline Blvd., Chesapeake, VA 23321.
