Just as Deborah in the Bible was courageous and supported the people of God, so did our Debora while she was here on earth.

Debora Ann Powers, age 62, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 26, 2021.  She was born on November 25, 1958, to the late Moses Bonner Powers, Sr. and Melissie McDonald Powers in Norfolk, Virginia. Debora graduated from Norview High School. She attended Strayer University and Virginia Commonwealth College and earned degrees in Business Administration.

Debora was employed for many years at Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, Maryland. Debora briefly served in the United States Army before earning her wings as a Flight Attendant with Altair Airlines. She was a Co-Host on WAVY Television’s “Spread a Little Sunshine.”

Debora was nurturing, supportive, and a loyal sister who loved her family dearly.  She had an enormous heart for serving and caring for others.  Without fail, Debora would always put others before herself and give you her last. She was truly a missionary for the Lord and often prayed for and encouraged others.

Debora leaves to cherish her memories six siblings Bonita Powers Otey (Ricky), Moses Powers Jr., Maurice Powers, Terry Powers (Sheila), Dr. Vivian Powers, Hope Powers, and nephews and nieces Damon Powers (Paulita), Dr. Stacie Otey-Scott (Jason), Stephanie Otey (Vonda), Terry Powers, Jr., Corey Powers, Brandon Powers, Maranatha Powers-Tutt (NW), Hanna Powers, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, all of whom she loved and touched deeply.
