COVID19 REGULATIONS FOR ATTENDING VIEWING AND CHAPEL SERVICES AT CORPREW FUNERAL HOME
Due to the recent increase in COVID19 cases, the governor of Virginia has established guidelines to reduce the spread of this pandemic virus. In an effort to keep our families, staff and facilities protected and safe, we are asking that all visitors comply with the following directives:
** Be subject to temperature checks, hand sanitation and social distancing of nothing less than 6 feet within the facility
**Facial coverings that cover the nose and mouth are required and must remain on while inside of the facilities for viewing and services
** Refrain from kissing, hugging, embracing others as your enter or leave the facilities to help reduce the spread of the virus
** If you are experiencing a cold or flu-like symptoms, please do not enter the funeral home at any time
** Chapel services are limited to 10 People, per Governor’s New Order and Mandate effective Monday, December 14, 2020
** During viewing hours, visitors may enter 10 at a time through a walk through process of viewing the deceased without lingering or having a large gathering

Deacon Kenneth Anthony Heidelberg Sr. was born January 10, 1940 in Norfolk, VA to the late Elder Colonal M. & Sister Elder Lena (King) Heidelberg. Kenneth was educated in the Norfolk Public Schools in Virginia and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in the class of 1958. Shortly after graduating high school, Kenneth enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Germany. After receiving an honorable discharge, Kenneth enrolled in Norfolk State University for physical therapy where he met and married Velma Cross and out of that union was born two sons. Kenneth relocated his young family from Virginia to Boston, MA eventually settling in Cranston, RI.
Kenneth held several positions throughout his professional career including city bus driver, bank manager but treasured his position as Site Manager for the Boston African American National Historic Site under the National Park Service where he met and later married the love of his life Pamela D. Ellis, where he expanded his family. At a young age Kenneth was immersed by the late Evangelist Frank Smith of Fourth Tabernacle Beth El, Norfolk, VA. He was later appointed first Bass in the tabernacle choir. Later Kenneth served as Sabbath School Superintendent, Deacon and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, First Tabernacle Beth EL, Providence RI. He was lovingly known for the multiple memory verses he recited each Sabbath Day. Deacon Heidelberg was a Grand Father Abraham Man, a true armor bearer of Grand Father Abraham.
With complete faith in God and trust in His infinite wisdom, Deacon Heidelberg began his transition home on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. He leaves an everlasting example for us all to follow. He leaves in God’s loving hands a devoted wife Pamela Ellis-Heidelberg; adoring sisters-in-law St. Luressa Heidelberg & Robin McDuffie and Philip Ellis a brother-in-law, loving children Kenneth A. (Deborah) Heidelberg Jr. and Khary J. (Brooke) Heidelberg. William E. Ellis, David L. Ellis, Michelle M. Godette, Karyn M. (Temeni) Hurt, Avivah Smith, Alexzandrea Brown, Kay-Leah (Frank) Housen and Kristen Hobbs, 16 cherished grandchildren a host of nephews & nieces, cousins, brothers of the heart Chief Rabbi Phillip E. McNeil (Charlene), Evangelist Judah (Virginia) Person Jr., Reverend James (Delores) Edwards III, Evert Johnson & Andy (Leann) Clary and a wealth of other relatives and dear friends.
