Davy Smith, Jr. “Junnie”, 63, after a long bout with liver cancer passed away on August 25, 2016 with his family by his side in Portsmouth, Virginia. He was born on July 21, 1953. Davy, Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Davy Sr. and Pearlie Mae (Harris) Smith; brothers, Michael Smith and Carlton Smith; and sister, Patricia Smith.
Davy, Jr. leaves his memories to be cherished by his wife, Demetria Oglesby-Smith; brother Joseph Smith; sisters, Bonita Tabron (David), Lola Smith, and Patricia White; daughters, Rochelle Donaldson, Lashanda Oglesby, Rosylen Oglesby, Medina Henderson (Aaron, Sr.); son Toneè Oglesby; grandchildren, LaShanta Donaldson, Reshaè Butler, Madison Henderson, and Aaron Henderson, Jr.; great grandchild, JaMarri Darden; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation for family and friends will began on Monday, August 29th at 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in Corprew Funeral Home, 1822 Portsmouth Blvd., Portsmouth VA 23704. A service will be held on Tuesday, August 30th at 1:00 p.m. in Corprew Funeral Home. The family would like to send a special thank you to Debra Jones (Sister-in-Law), VCU Hume-Lee Transplant Center (Richmond), Bon Secours Medical and Hospice (Portsmouth), and E.V. Williams for their support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bon Secours Maryview Foundation in his name.
