Crystal Norman Cradle 67 was fondly known as “The Hand that Rocks the Cradle”. Crystal was born September 29,1955 in Portsmouth Virginia to William and Pauline Hunt. Crystal, affectionately known as “Chris” and sometime “Poochie” took her wings June 19, 2023, in her home surrounded by family.
Crystal was educated in Portsmouth Public School System. She worked as a cab driver for 15 years for Safeway Cab Company. Always the life of the party, she loved to laugh, joke and have fun. Crystal could make your saddest day into a joyful one by cheering you up and almost causing you to pass out from laughing so hard! She was known for cooking the best cabbage and collard greens, not to mention her tasty ice-tea and the neighborhood warmly knew her as the candy lady.
Crystal was preceded in death by her parents William and Pauline Hunt, her son Louviere R. cradle, a brother, Sidney Hunt and a niece Ebony Taylor. Crystal was loved and will be missed by her two sons, Jason and William Cradle of Portsmouth. Sister’s Barbra Hunt, Joyce (Hunt) Green, and Elaine and Erlaine Dickens. Brothers Henry Hunt, Alexander Hunt, and Ramel Hunt. One Loving aunt, Betty Longshore of Chesapeake. Grandchildren, Taquere, Ashanti, JaQuee, Mahari, Jason, Orion, Louvieve Cradle all of Portsmouth, and Louviere Carter of Atlanta; two great grandkids, Dorian and Dior. Two devoted sister-in-laws Virginia and Carol Hunt. Devoted nieces Demetria and Sonya Hunt, Kimberly green, and shanikka Ratliff. Devoted nephews Jamal Quimble and alexander (Terrell) Hunt. Close and devoted friends, Teretta Blair and Virdilla McGhee, as well as a multitude of cherished nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins and friends. Crystal will be fondly remembered for her quick wit, unyielding spirit, and her deep love for God.
