On Sunday, February 6, 2022, our mother earned her wings after a long battle of illnesses. There are no more tears, no more pain. Barbara Ann [Ms. B] Banks has gone on to eternal rest.
She was a member of New First Baptist Taylorsville in Portsmouth, VA where she was a loyal lifetime member.
Barbara was born to the late Johnnie and Ruth Banks of Portsmouth, VA, on June 25, 1946. She was educated in Chesapeake Public Schools. Her course of employment was with The Pines in Portsmouth and later with Chucky Cheese in Chesapeake between her dealings with illness.
She leaves behind her loving sons Kenneth J. Banks, Sr. [Imelda], Michael D. Banks, Sr. [Felicia], Terence. L. Banks [Mary] and Alfonso M. Banks [Melita]. Thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Her siblings, Richard C. Williams, Frances Y. Thomas [James], Hezekiah M. Banks, Jasper L. Banks/ deceased [Hester], Linwood E. Banks/ deceased [Crystaal] and Clifton M. Banks/ deceased [Tim]. Also, several loved, never forgotten nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
