Aubrey Bernard Vaughan, Sr., of Portsmouth, VA (better known as Shonney) passed on October 6,2021 at the age of  74. He was born, on February 26,1947, to Grandvelle and Mamie Vaughan and graduated from I.C. Norcom High School. He later enlisted in the US Army and became an enlisted Drill Sergeant and proud Veteran.

After retirement from US Army, he worked at the Norfolk Naval Supply Center and retired in 1991, after 31 years of civil service. In 1965, he married Beverly Ray Vaughan, had four children, and is survived by three of his children (Aubrey Jr., Cheryl., and Chavis) and brother, Del Vaughan and many other relatives and friends.

He is also survived by 11 grandchildren (Chavis Jr,  Lala, Kobe, Aurelia, Xavier, Quentin, and Quade, Tekerra, Davieon, Makaya , Aniya) and one great grandchild (Ayden). He enjoyed his memberships in the Masons, Shriners, and as an I.C. Norcom Football Parent.
