Andrea D. Davis, affectionately known as “Angie”, 53, died on April 23, 2018.  She was born on September 15, 1964 in Portsmouth, Virginia to William Johnson, Sr., and the late Mildred “Miki” Johnson.  Angie was the essence of femininity with a “brassy” spirit of love who entered into eternal life on Monday, April 23, 2018.

She was a graduate of Deep Creek High School, c/o 1982.  Soon after graduation, she enlisted in the United States Navy, 1984-1989 as a Culinary Associate and began tours of duties in Portugal, Germany, Italy and Spain.  As a lover of people and children from all walks of life, she was co-owner of Miki’s Day Care Center.  She continued this passion while working in various community group-home facilities for adults with intellectual disabilities and homes for aged adults.

Angie was a member of Miracle of Faith.  She enjoyed attending church with her mother Miki, who was a member for twenty years.

She was proceeded in death by her brother, Michael Johnson, maternal grandparents, Arthur and Ernestine Ellis, paternal grandparents, David and Gracie Bremby.

Angie is survived by her father, William R. Johnson (Joyce); two sons, Rico Johnson (Chloe) and Kimara Davis (Sa’ron); a long-time sweetheart, Dwight Griffin (Montrel, Anthony, Terrell, Devin); three brothers, Jamar Warren, Darius Collins, and Charles Holland; eight grandchildren, Nyasia, Makaylah, Briana, Rico Jr., Erin, Cori, Ocean, Tyler; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and special childhood friends, Lolita, Alison, Wendy, and Vicki.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018, 11 am at Miracle of Faith Baptist Church, 30 Claremont Dr., Portsmouth, VA  23702.  Interment will be on Monday, April 30, 2018, 1 pm at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Rd., Suffolk, VA  23434.  Viewing will be held on Friday, April 27th from 12 Noon to 8 pm at the funeral home.
