Alvin Lee Delk, 83, of Norfolk, VA, passed away on December 30, 2022.
Alvin was born to Annie Mae Delk on June 13, 1939, in Norfolk, VA. He was a student at Booker T. Washington High School. He was employed as a Stevedore with the International Shortshoreman Association (Local 1458) from which he retired after 30 years in 1994. He enjoyed going to church, singing and reading the bible.
Alvin is survived by two daughters-Maria LaKita Clemons and Alva JoNetta Davis. He is also survived by his sister-Juanita H. Perkins; two special grandsons-Karl Alvin Wendell Delk and Denzel Jamal Delk (Theresa) and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother-Annie Mae Delk; sisters-Vertia Woods, Brenda Arrington and Cathleen Anderson; and brothers-Clarence Smith, Sterling Freeman, Grover Freeman, Jr., James Freeman and Ruben Freeman.
Alvin was a very humble, easy-going individual who loved the Lord. He was a man of few words but loved to sing. Alvin sang with The Markey’s and was featured on the single “Danny Boy”.
