On Tuesday, September 14, 2021 our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Alvania J. Petty transitioned to her final resting place to walk around heaven.

Through fellowship, Alvania began attending St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church where she became a member and served as a Missionary. She loved the Lord and attended church faithfully until her health began to decline.

Alvania loved traveling, decorating her home with unique knick knacks and growing plants. She had a green thumb and could teach anyone how to grow a plant or bring it back to life.  Alvania adopted the name “Road Runner” due to her always being on the go. You could find her in one of her favorite places, Walmart, seeing what she could purchase next. She loved people and would assist them in any way she could whether it was giving them rides or assisting with anything they may have asked of her. She had a genuine kindness about her. Anyone that speaks about her would tell you just that.  Alvania valued her family and would often remind the grandchildren to answer their phone and “give grandma a call.” She also looked forward to holidays because she knew that she would get to see the family members who lived out of town or were always working and on the go.

Alvania was preceded in death by her brother James Jacobs, son Larry Petty and grandson Antwan Wiggins.

Leaving to celebrate her life and keep her memories alive are her four children- Alvin Petty, Mitchele Petty, Antoinne Petty and Robin Petty; godson Linwood McCoy (Betty); grandchildren- Bobby Sr., Tamika, Kevin, Larry, Travis, Teresa, Danisha, Ebony, Jamonte, Hassan, Jackee’, John, Danisha, Zinell and Deshon; 57 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, sister Mary Goodman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and a best friend, Ruth Prunty.
