On January 7, 2017, our beloved Abel Freeman departed her earthly life. She was born on December 24, 1925, to the late John and Lorena Wilson of Colerain, North Carolina.
Abel was preceded by her husband Randle W. Freeman, son Ernest Lee Freeman and daughter Yvonne Farmer and is now survived by her loving children, three daughters: Idell Green, Gloria Wheeler, and Melinda Lacy Smith (John) all of Portsmouth, three sons: Henry W. Freeman (Angela) of Portsmouth, Randle Jr. Freeman (Cheryl) of Dumfries, VA, Bobby Freeman of Newport News, VA, a truly dedicated niece Barbara A. Reid (Charles) of Chesapeake, VA, a precious sister-in-law she called “Sister” Mary Parker of Norfolk, VA; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017, 11 am at The Hope Center, 1425 Gust Lane, Chesapeake, VA 23323. The family will be receiving guests at 103 Bunche Blvd., Portsmouth, VA 23701. Corprew Funeral Home is in charge.
