Aaron Dwayne Knight, was born April 28, 1970, in Hartford, CT.  He was the son of Melton L. Knight Sr. & Brenda Little and raised in Edenton Manor. He later went to earn a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from Elizabeth City State University. He became the first black superintendent at Virginia Beach Juvenile Detention Center. He enjoyed coaching football, spending time with family, and mentoring the youth in the community. Throughout his Christian walk, he became heavily active in the church and devoted his life to God.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pearl and Melton C. Knight; Linwood and Evelyn Stanley. Aaron leaves to cherish in his memories: his father Melton L. Knight Sr of Hertford, NC; his mother and stepfather Brenda and Thurlis Little Jr of Edenton, NC; his wife Nicole Knight of Suffolk, VA; three sons – Joshua Knight, Micah Knight, Caleb Knight of Suffolk, VA; three daughters – Laquanza Payne (Thomas) of Temple Hills, MD; Dominique Mendes, Monaija Mendes of Suffolk, VA; Brother Melton L. Knight Jr of Corona, NY; three sisters, Nicole Knight-Holloway of Nassau County, NY, Tonya Little (Joe) Durham, NC, Tamara Little of Chesapeake, VA; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Aaron will be missed, but never forgotten by all who loved him. Rest in eternal paradise until we meet again.
